Lady Raiders fall to Seahawks, close door on '09 season

Some prophet once said, "all good things come to an end," and such was the case for the LHS girls' soccer team on Thursday, Nov. 5th.  After a wonderful regular season, following a State Championship the season before, the Raiders fell to the South River Seahawks, 3-0, at Raider Stadium.

Just a few minutes into the match, the officials awarded the Seahawks a questionable penalty kick, which South River promptly buried.  The Raiders were behind in a game, not something they were accustomed. But the will and character of this team came through and the girls fought for the next 75+ minutes but faced a very quick Seahawk front line (and back line) and could not penetrate the goal.

Seven seniors: Rachel Eversole, Taeler Errington, Rachel Lynn, Ashleigh Norris, Kylie Oosterink, Teresa Paz and Johanna Rambo have played their final high school soccer game and LHS is proud of their accomplished in a Raider uniform.  Good luck in all your pursuits, ladies; we're sure you will bring the same success to everything you do as you did while wearing the Raider's colors.
